McKenna & Associates have been briefed by a leading boutique law firm in Western Australia, seeking an experienced and motivated property lawyer to join a well-established (and busy!) practice and take their career to the next level.

About The Role
Working closely with the director of the property team, as well as other directors and partners in other practice areas, this position has a great balance of working with the director on some matters and also having management of your own files.
With an increasing number of instructions across multiple clients with repeat work, this team is fast becoming a growing area for the firm. This unique opportunity would suit a Senior Associate or an Associate Lawyer who has a minimum of 5 years PAE relevant to property aw (but also considering candidates up to 10 years) and is keen to work in the following areas:
• property and business settlements;
• commercial lease drafting and review (acting for both landlords and tenants);
• reviewing, drafting and negotiating property documents;
• rural and agriculture;
• FIRB approval advice;
• acquisitions and disposals;
• financing of real estate projects;
• general commercial advice and contract drafting

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• a minimum of 5 years experience in property law;
• experience with complex property and leasing transactions (both landlord and tenant);
• the ability to draft and negotiate complex agreements;
• a commercial approach and the ability to assess risks;
• the ability to work independently in an efficient manner;
• the ability to analyse documents and apply your technical skills;
• strong communication skills;
• a strong knowledge of the property industry;
• an organised approach to your practice management skills with an ability to scope matters, ensure costs agreements are in order and to monitor fee estimates; and
• a strong commitment to client service.
