Maryann McKenna
Managing Director
Within minutes of meeting Maryann, it’s easy to see how much she loves what she does. Her positive, happy, kind and bubbly personality is infectious and the perfect match for her passion, hard work and professionalism.
Maryann has spent over three decades in the Perth human resources and recruitment industry. Before entering the recruitment world, Maryann spent 12 years as a human resources coordinator for the WA Department of Education, but always felt driven to the recruitment side. This drive led Maryann to lead the professional services recruitment team of a boutique firm for almost a decade and work within the Accounting & Finance team of one of the world’s largest recruitment firms, before making the move to legal recruitment in 2015.
This experience has seen Maryann establish strong relationships with some of the most prominent Legal and Accounting firms in Perth – just one of the many facets of her expertise that sets her apart.
After years of gaining experience and perfecting the art of recruitment, Maryann decided to step out on her own. She established Mckenna & Associates in August 2018, and hasn’t looked back.
Maryann has a genuine passion for helping candidates find the job they love, and firm owners find the right match for their team. Her experience, hard work, determination and somewhat conservative approach, enables her to deliver consistently outstanding results.

Charissa Mitsikas- Beasley LLB.BA
Director – Legal Recruitment
It is undeniable that Charissa’s personality, qualifications, and experience are perfectly aligned with the energetic world of legal recruitment. She was, after all, a lawyer in her past life, having lived and breathed the experience of not only the study of law at UWA Law School, but also the process of seeking a law firm that aligned with her own personal values.
A strategic move into legal human resources as a junior lawyer paved the way for Charissa’s documented career trajectory across various national and international law firms and “key players” in the professional services sector. It is here that she built her brand and reputation amongst the legal candidate market given her own journey as a young lawyer navigating the various law firm offerings in the market. With her solid ethical standpoint and intrinsic ability to relate to a diverse range of people, it was inevitable that she earned her place in the WA sector as a leading People, Culture & Capability executive.
With a strategic mindset and a natural flair for building and nurturing relationships, Charissa has often relied on her emotional intelligence and “moral compass” when choosing organisations to consult with and colleagues to partner with. This is because Charissa is, by definition, born to work with people.
The desire to keep it real and to “do what matters” is why, after two decades of human resources, Charissa has joined McKenna & Associates as Director – Legal. It is her genuine desire to match lawyers to law firms with mutual benefit, alignment and career opportunities that drives her passion in legal recruitment– and ultimately why she is perfectly placed to lead the Australian market in this space.
As a self-defined “A” type personality, Charissa likes to challenge herself in all aspects of life. She is the CEO of her household and the Managing Director of her three children (pro bono) with her husband Shane; and her “passion projects” as a yoga instructor and clothing designer help to keep the creative dream alive.
