McKenna & Associates have been briefed by a leading WA boutique law firm seeking an experienced Property Legal Secretary to join their busy property team!

Working as a Property Legal Secretary in this property team, you will work for 1 director, up to 2 other solicitors and also be involved with all property settlements.

To be successful in the role you will have proven experience working in another law firm, have a hands-on approach and be able to work at a high level. With excellent communication skills, sound Microsoft Office suite and technical skills you will go above and beyond a standard legal secretarial role.
This can be a busy role and you will be responsible for:
• liaising with clients;
• diary, email and calendar management;
• drafting, editing and formatting a range of documents and correspondence;
• email management;
• conflict checks;
• opening, closing and archiving of files;
• administrative support to the wider team;
• scanning, photocopying, filing etc; and
• billing and attending to billing queries.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to meet the following:
• over 4 years of experience as a legal secretary;
• property and commercial law practice area experience;
• previous experience in property settlements (desirable but not essential);
• experience with PEXA (desirable but not essential);
• understanding of Landgate and OSR requirements (desirable but not essential);
• exposure to and experience with leasing documents;
• solid attention to detail;
• ability to prioritise a busy workload and multi-task;
• an accurate typing ability – minimum 65wpm with 98% accuracy;
• knowledge of MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• maintaining data integrity through effective data management;
• excellent communication – both verbal and written;
• strong technical ability;
• professional presentation;
• previous experience of working in a law firm is essential;
• experience with LEAP Cloud (desirable but not essential);
• collaborative approach and attitude;
• commitment to surpass expectations;
• ability to work with all levels of staff;
• strong client service focus; and
• superior organisational skills with a proactive attitude and focus.

Please note this is a full time, permanent role with standard office hours from 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.
