Family Lawyer 1 – 4+ PAE1176879McKenna & Associates have been briefed by a premier family law firm based in West Perth. The team of highly skilled family lawyers have over 50 years combined experience in the legal industry, providing expert family law advice to Perth clients.
The Role
The successful applicant will provide assistance to the Directors in all aspects of file management and document preparation. This includes drafting routine documents, collection of information relevant to matters and liaising with clients. The successful applicant will additionally manage their own file load with the direction and supervision of the Directors.
Specifically, core duties will include:
- Providing legal and administrative support to the Directors
- Fielding initial enquiries from prospective clients
- Attending initial face to face meetings with prospective clients and taking detailed client instructions (together with Directors)
- Undertaking research for the firm
- Drafting correspondence and Family Court documents
- Weekly attendance at Community Legal Centres to provide pro bono advice
- Attending the Family Court (including court appearances and inspection of documents)
- Other duties may be reasonably requested from time to time
About You: Essential Skills and Experience
- 1-4+ Years PAE in family law
- Admitted to Practice in WA
- Aspiration to practise exclusively in family law
- Superior interpersonal skills
- Exceptional grammar and written skills
- Excellent knowledge of Family Court procedures, rules and regulations
- Resourceful research and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Experience in the use of FilePro (or similar) legal practice management software
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
